As one of the largest ecosystems in North America the Everglades are home to thousands of diverse species over a dozen of which are endangered. This freshwater wetland not only is a safe haven to wildlife it provides freshwater to 1/3 of Florida's population. It has been protected as a World Heritage Site, a Biosphere Reserve, and a Wetland of International Significance. This aerial perspective depicts the important balance between humans and nature that must continue to be respected.
