Elk, Grand Canyon
The Rangers at the gate of the Grand Canyon had a broken coffee maker, so I got up at 3 a.m. and went to the local store and got coffee and doughnuts for them. While feasting, I asked them for a place that wasn't "touristy" and that I would be able to photograph wildlife at dawn. They pointed me to a spot, and at sunrise, there were hundreds of Elk all around me. This one buck was along, feeding by himself and the light was magnificent. This shot was far away from the tourist and railings.
