A Gift from the Sea
A beautiful white sand lily I was lucky to find this morning at Macronisos beach. Like a gift of the sea! The white sand lily (scient. Pancratium maritimum), also known as sea daffodil, is a charming plant that overwhelmed the dunes of Cyprus from August to October. During the day they close and wither and in the nights, amid the sea breeze, they open and fling their fragrance all around. Unfortunately, in recent years its population has been limited to a few beaches... It is rare to find one...
