The Gariahat market is the obvious choice for shopping for many middle class Calcuttans. Walking through this area one evening, I noticed a man holding the hand of a restless child, waiting for a bus or an auto-rickshaw. The man was somewhat concerned - perhaps about the safety of the child on the busy road. The child was moving around - maybe he was eager to get back home or perhaps going to the market to buy a new toy. Both show anxiety yet contrast - a child and an adult.
