Just a few meters left to reach the stunning plateau of the Mont Albert, we hoped we would catch a glimpse of the Woodland caribou herd that inhabits this fragile environment. Measures are in place to reduce the impact of humans on the endangered herd and visitors are asked to keep to the path. We spotted only one caribou of a herd estimated at fewer than 50 individuals.
