    Superblooms of California poppies outside of Los Angeles are caused by particularly wet winters. As California's climate shifts to a boom and bust cycle of drought and deluge, these breathtaking explosions of orange poppies may become more common - but could be interspersed with years of extreme dry spells and the rather more alarming orange of wildfires.
