    Reported by:

As arctic climate warms, traditional ways of life are increasingly being discarded, though rarely as literally as seen here in Ilulissat, Greenland. While local communities once relied upon sled dogs for travel and hunting, climate change is causing many Inuit to abandon sled dogs. Warming temperatures have reduced sea ice, meaning sled dogs can work fewer days than in cooler years. Consequently, sled dogs are increasingly being discarded in favor of snow mobiles and boats.
