    I took this shot a long time ago, although it seems like yesterday. A rare whimbrel was catching crabs and other edible invertebrae just in front of me. It came so close that I needed to go backwards. Possibly this bird migrated from the Arctic and didn't recognize humans as a possible danger. Its feet got quite muddy. Holwerd, Friesland, De Wadden, the Netherlands, 2009.
