An overexposed photo of the under exposed Monarch butterfly. In recent years, sightings of the Monarch were few and far between. We were facing the extinction of this migratory butterfly because of human activities.Use of herbicide-resistant crops that destroy milkweed and nectaring habitat, deforestation in Mexico, severe weather and habitat loss. But the last couple years we are witnessing a come back with the population's efforts to grow milkweed, among other things. A wonderful thing to do!
