I think that this is a female Blue Heron. Shes hunting for food. I have the great pleasure of living in the wetlands, so when I can do it, I go out and watch the birds and waterfowl there. I love how they all congregate and even hunt together in the water. No matter what the species it seems that they all seem to work it out together. Humanity could learn from them.
