This actually not a sound but a fiord.One of the newest fiordlands, created by the massive glaciers carving It´s way through the landscape. According to the Mauri legends, though, it was carved by the God Maui with his giant sword. In Mauri It is called Piopiotahi, witch Translates into Shadowlands
