Iceberg on the Stikine River, Alaska
Indescribably beautiful glacial ice, floating down Alaska's Stikine River. The crystal-clear aqua color, we learned, is a result of tons of glacial pressure squeezing the air bubbles out of the lower levels of this melting iceberg calved from the Chief Shakes Glacier. It's the air bubbles that prevent us from normally seeing the crystal blue hue of natural ice in its most beautiful form.
