I was hoping for a gorgeous sunrise on the Potomac. But here I was at Key Bridge looking down. The clouds made it certain that I wasn't going to see a sunrise any time soon. I remember how I struggled to extract some semblance of tonal range from a scene where there was hardly any contrast.
