The Basilica of Bom Jesus, Goa
The Basilica of Bom Jesus is famous throughout the Roman Catholic world. This church houses the Holy sacrament and the body of St. Francis Xavier. In this church, the embalmed body of Goa’s patron saint, St. Francis Xavier is kept in the perfectly preserved state since his death, almost 450 years ago. The construction of the church was started in 1594 and completed in 1605.
