Man Standing Inside an Ice Cave
These ice caves lay in front of Big Four Mountain (6,135ft.) which is located in the Cascade Range in Washington. Since the mountain is so high, any avalanche debris that fall are able to remain there year round because of the continuous shade provided by the mountain. During the summer months, streams from snow-melt flow beneath and cause the caves to be formed. It's incredible how the shape of the caves is always different; each time I visit it has changed.
