This is my favorite photo of many I took of a mother cheetah and her five nearly grown cubs, Masai Mara Reserve, Kenya. Successfully raising so many must be a rare achievement in the harsh northern Serengeti. A sky-blackening late afternoon thunderstorm drove safari vehicles into the lodges but our guide and driver were willing to stay out with us. Our rewards were amazing unexpected views of these fierce elegant animals, a pinnacle lifetime experience.
