Edit Photo Details Officer Mess, Residency.Lucknow   #hertige
The rear veranda ( facing east) of the Officer Mess destroyed during the 1857 siege of the Residency ( official residence of the Sr most British officer in the area Sir Henry Lawrence). The wooden rafters on top of the pillars still hold up some of the brick work. The sky was high lighted by me to remind me of eternal sky as seen by those British Officers in 1800 and the debris in silhouette of our inevitable change.
