Edit Photo Details Pondering Penguin   #catlins
This photo was taken in Curio Bay, New Zealand. I watched on as a small colony of Yellow-Eyed Penguins made their way up to the beach nests and turned back just in time to snap this photo. It seemed that this fella had lost his way, taking a moment to ponder the shores he had just hopped out of. Yellow-Eyed Penguins are known for being the rarest penguin species in the world, and are very much a source of joy and pride for local Kiwis. This photo was shot using high-dynamic range.
