Age of the Crane
This shot was taken in Shangri-la, Yunnan, China. Walking around the new city, I came across this view. The juxtaposition of the two construction cranes against the two cranes statue was immediately obvious to me. But I also felt a sadness about the image as I realised that once, in the past, there would have been many 'Cranes' (bird) in this region, now to be replaced by metal statues and cranes (construction) as the pace of change and 'human progress' continues.
