While on an assignment for my photo II class in Ventura, CA I headed to where the Santa Clara river meets the Ventura ocean to shoot the amazing wild life inhabitants. I walked quite far to be met by this huge hose with yellow-brown fluid being dumped into the ocean. There were warning signs about the hazards of swimming in the ocean and to "do at your own risk". The water was that from the river to keep the nearby camp from flooding. What was most disturbing was the reality of our carelessness.
