I shot this image while on a 5 day boat trip to Catalina Island with my underwater photo group. I had just received my scuba certification & was excited to use it with my photography. On this dive I focused on my underwater macro skills & spent the dive photographing gobies, urchins, sea stars, & a lobster. Then I directed my focus to the kelp surrounding me. With the current being much stronger near the surface, the kelp continued to sway making focusing difficult but I was glad I had patience.
