Famous for its 4th of July celebrations, Long Beach attracts visitors from all over, many of them come by boat. In the picture, a thick cloud of smoke from the fireworks, covers a huge area of the sky. The smoke creates a sort of bounce, that reflects back the light from the sodium vapors lamps of the city streets. On this way, everything ends up with a gold tint in it. An interesting contrast with the colorful lights from the nearby boats reflected in the water.
