Terno das Almas (Terno of souls)
In Igatu, Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brazil, a town that descends from diamond mining activity at the time of quaresma (40 days before the Passion of Christ), several people leave the village towards the countryside, with white robes singing and praying for dead relatives. Chant lamentations called ladainhas. The end of the ritual, in front of a church, subjects took the white robes and flip them to purify waste of souls.
This ritual usually takes place between the months of March and April.
