Becoming a refugee is not a choice nor an option. It is a heart wrenching, life preserving decision made in the most dire of circumstances. Many arrive with their children, their passports and the clothes they stand in. Incomes are almost zero, employers abuse them, work is scarce, shattered lives are put on hold, they exist in limbo. Time stops, yet days, weeks and months tick by and seasons change. At a camp in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon for Syrian refugees. October 2013
