On our trip to the coast in August I discovered my sister building a circular "fort" in the sand just short of the waves. For a while the project was a success and my sister could safely stand in the middle of her fort when the slow waves came in without getting wet. Alas, nothing can defeat the force of nature! With the coming of a particularly large wave my sister and I were compelled to run. Before we knew it her poor fort was returned to its original state as smooth sand on an endless beach.
