The calm after the storm
This scene is so deceptive - so quiet and tranquil. But all around there is evidence of the flood that came through a few weeks before. In many areas the brush and reeds are flattened by the force of the water and the banks of the river have been eaten away. I was astounded at how far the impact of the flood spread. We drove at least 4 1/2 hours from Northern Colorado where the floods originated, and here too there was significant impact from those extreme rains. Incredible!
