The historic vessel EXPRESS on the Alaska August 2012. Originally built as the Portland Oregon fireboat DAVID CAMPBELL at Michigan in 1912 as hull #52 by the Johnston Bros Boiler Company. Knocked down, shipped and reassembled in Portland and entered service in May 1913. Serving Portland for 13 years, the steam powered vessel was replaced by a gasoline fireboat also by the same name and so was renamed CHEIF until reconstructed as the schooner ALEUTIAN NATIVE in 1929.
