    On the day we went to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park across the North Carolina border in Tennessee, the area lived up to its reputation. The fog was very thick, so the observation area as seen in the picture was pretty worthless at the top. It did have photos of what the area would have looked like had there been no fog, however.
