This Red-Shouldered Hawk was the most human-friendly wild bird I have met. It was perched on a tree as I was walking on a forest trail with my backpack of camera/lens and tripod. I just dropped everything on the wet ground (it snowed last night), grabbed the camera and lens and did not even bother to set up the tripod fearing the hawk would fly away. I was able to get within 20 feet below the tree to get many photos as the hawk watched me click away. It was almost like it was posing for me!
