bhajji - Indian spicy veg fritters
Popular street food. An Indian version of spicy vegetable fritters. Often eaten as starters to main Indian cuisine courses / as a snack served with a piping hot cup of coffee or tea.
Basic recipe - chopped onions incorporated into a dough made from rice and gram flour, spices, and sometimes herbs, then fried until golden. Variations like potato bhajji, raw banana, chilli bhajji are more popular in SouthIndia. Red chili powder, turmeric powder and rice powder are used for coating chili bhajjis
