    Reported by:

When I walked by this man, I had nothing on me but my camera, and he was resting on the steps of a church in Buenos Aires. I found a store nearby and bought cookies. When I came back, he was gone, but I saw he had only moved about 50 yards away, and looked exhausted. Cautiously, so as not to alarm him, I offered him the cookies and asked to take his picture. His shaking hand graciously accepted the cookies as he agreed to let me take his portrait. It wasn't much, but it was something.
