A bunch of artichokes (the buds of a thistle-like plant that are one of the most appreciated seasonal vegetables in Italy) and, in back, bottles of "olio nuovo", extra virgin olive oil from the freshly pressed 2013 olive harvest. Unfiltered, olio nuovo has a tangy, spicy and slightly bitter taste that will disappear after a few weeks.
