Small ponds of water are the unique identity of villages in Punjab (India) where the animals specially buffaloes used to take bath and get relief from scorching sun heat. These ponds have become virtual place of livelihood and foodstuff for many birds like kingfishers, Stilts, Moorhens etc because of an abundance of frogs and fishes in them.
