I took this shot during a Geophysical Survey in Southern Pakistan. In Southern Pakistan (Sindh)sun is still very hot and there are lots of small ponds and rice fields around. These conditions are ideal for these Kingfishers as they can get ample food (fish in particular) there. In Islamabad Winters are arriving and one can hardly see a bird other than crows and house sparrows.
