In Native American culture, the red-tailed hawk is a messenger from the spirit world. One day, after a big snowstorm, this red-tailed perched on a branch in the tree right outside the window of the room where I write music. The message was one of inspiration, I like to think, from my musical ancestors. The appearance of this fellow creature always gives me faith that our Creator shows us beauty all the time. All we have to do is to look.
