This shot was taken while observing the behaviour of the Fallow Deer in the ancient deer park of Dyrham Park. This large male was standing in order to rip off the lower branches of the trees with his antlers - giving them a fresh collections of leaves on which to eat. I only felt that I could do it justice by creating this photograph as a sequence of four. It was also interesting to see a lot of the deer with red antlers which was a result of recently losing the velvet covering.
