I visited the Grand Canyon while helping a friend move cross country. We drove in shifts, taking breaks at colorful attractions along our route. On this morning we woke early and rolled out of Albuquerque, NM traveling through a vast emptiness dotted with cattle. I had been behind the wheel for six hours before we arrived at Grand Canyon Village. Taking a moment to stretch we hiked along the Rim Trail on the South Rim. I took this picture near Mather Point while I stood there speechless.
