Found this little Phasmatodea hanging out at the pool and decided to breakout the macro lens, which I rarely do. Obviously, the Walking Stick has adapted some incredible camouflaging, yet some of the more interesting defensive mechanisms is the ability to play dead, sacrifice a leg to a predator (grows back within a few weeks), and is even capable of discharging a foul tasting blood from its leg joints.
