I was people-watching, sitting alone at Boudha Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal, when I noticed these pretty young ladies with their heads together, talking privately, then laughing out loud, time and time again. Their laughter, and especially the way they looked at each other, made me smile, even though I was feeling lonely after 3 months essentially on my own in this country. I longed for the kind of friendship I saw between these two girls.
