The Pamban Bridge
'Train! Train!' I shouted and and braked hard. Santosh jumped off the motorbike and I made a dash for the footpath on the bridge. Awestruck by the beauty, we stood there grappling for our cameras while my helmet cam silently took the video footage.
Pamban Bridge (India's first sea bridge) is a cantilever one on the Palk Strait which connects Rameswaram on Pamban Island to mainland India. It has a double leaf bascule section midway, which can be raised to let ships and barges pass through.
