At dusk, seated on a bench and staring across river Hudson at leisure, one doesn't realize the silent transformation of carefully stacked glass-cased columns and beams of Manhattan skyline into an assorted array of lights. The Hudson, 'frozen' by 15s exposure here, effortlessly hides the thunder and thrust of PATH subway trains that barrel across under its river-bed. Trains leave the u/g Exchange Place station, just behind the bench in foreground, and surface next to that new WTC 1 tower.
