the wave is a rock formation carved in the sandstone by wind and water the colors are beautiful but i advise hicking early because it is in the deasert its hot and dry plus you need a permit to hike in here.. The hike is only 3 miles in but you will walk through soft sand, climb hills, climb rock hills, if your in good shape its a easy hike if not i recomend hireing a guide easy to get lost cause there is not a trail marked when your in the rocks. take plenty of water too
