The Guardian of Whakatane
This statue "The Lady on the Rock" stands strong at the mouth of the Whakatane River, New Zealand. This place is loved by all as she represents when the Maori first arrived in NZ. People relax at this location to remember this special time in history. Waves crash and storms come and still she stands strong to represent the love the Maori have for NZ and the love NZ has for the Maori. Any boat that enters the harbour knows they have entered the beloved Whakatane, New Zealand.
