The morning I took this shot, my dad had taken me "road-cruising for hawks". He drives, and I sit in the passenger seat with my camera. When we spot a hawk, he pulls over, and I roll down the window and shoot. We first spotted this hawk next to the highway, and then he/she flew off. I watched where he/she flew, and we took a small road off the highway that circled around to where the hawk was. We went in circles like this several times and I got this shot on the side road.
