Look ... there's Daddy!
Daddy, R. Manoraj, took this photo of his mother holding his baby daughter. Traditionally babies under 2 years in Sri Lanka wear a black "bindi" spot on their foreheads to ward off the "evil eye". Later in life, only Hindu women wear a red bindi, signifying that they are married. Anybody here who attends a "pooja" service at a Hindu "kovil" (temple) is given a bindi. After many years of civil war it is heartening and not uncommon to see Singhalese temporarily wearing bindis after a pooja.
