    Reported by:

A male downy woodpecker furiously excavates a nest hole in Central Park, New York City. The park is home to many varieties of birds, some who stay for the winter and many more who stop during migration in the spring and fall. New York is located on the Atlantic Flyway and birders come from all over the world to see and photograph the tiny warblers and other migrants who stop to feed and rest in the park.
