An unusual swoosh of arctic air from the Yukon descended on the Pacific Northwest this week dropping temperatures to single digits in some areas. Counting the wind-chill, this is one of them. The view from Cape Disappointment at the mouth of the Columbia River mid week took the edge off the numbness for a moment.
