A photomicrograph of "Ocean jasper", a particularly rare jasper found only in Madagascar. It contains a microscopic garden of flowers called "orbs" in a fine-grained silica matrix. In this view two orbs impinge on each other during growth, resulting in perfectly straight boundaries.
