I was lying on the floor with my son - so tired I couldn't see straight, but every time he turned to look at me he laughed, which made me laugh. I grabbed the camera off the sofa and snapped away without really aiming. This snap encapsulated how it felt to lie there with him; even through a veil of immense tiredness I felt such immense joy. We'd gone through some rough times with his cleft lip surgery and post op infection, but his joyful spirit meant self pity was never allowed to linger.
