While babysitting 3 summers ago, the little girl I was riding bikes with decided she wanted to see how far we could throw sticks off the bridge over the lagoon in the plantation she lived in. I told her that it could attract alligators and I asked if she would be scared. Of course, I don't think she realized it would attract a gator who was very easily 8-10 feet. We watched him swim all the way over to us, press the tip of his snout against the big stick she'd thrown in, and take a test bite.
